Privacy Policy

Bubbles ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do and do not collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to the Bubbles mobile and watchOS app, the website at https://bubbles.fit, and related services.

1. The short version.

Bubbles is designed around privacy by default. Your steps, streaks, pet, and memories live on your iPhone, and optionally inside your own private iCloud account. We have no servers and we never sell, rent, or share personal data, because we do not collect any.

2. Information we collect.

None on our side. Bubbles runs fully on your device and does not transmit personal information to us or to any third party.

• No account, no email, no name, no phone number.
• No location data, advertising identifier, contacts, or photo library access.
• No analytics, telemetry, crash logs, or usage events sent to us.
• No tracking across apps or websites. Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt does not appear because we do not track you.

If you choose to email us at support@bubbles.fit, we will receive and store that email so we can reply, and we delete the thread when it is no longer needed.

3. Apple HealthKit and your steps.

With your explicit permission, Bubbles reads your daily step count from Apple HealthKit. That happens entirely on your device. The number is used only to feed and care for Bubbles and is never transmitted off your device by us. You can revoke HealthKit permission at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy and Security, Health. In line with Apple's HealthKit rules, we do not use HealthKit data for advertising and we do not share it with anyone.

4. iCloud backup.

If you enable iCloud backup, Bubbles writes your fish, streak, coral coins, catalog items, and memories to your own private iCloud container. That data is stored in your Apple account under Apple's terms and is not accessible to us. To delete it, sign in to iCloud and remove the Bubbles app data, or delete the app from your devices.

5. Legal bases for processing (GDPR and UK GDPR).

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the relevant legal bases for the limited activities above are:

• Consent, for your decision to grant HealthKit access and to email us.
• Performance of a contract, to provide the app and subscription you requested.
• Legitimate interest, to keep Bubbles secure and to respond to your support messages.
• Legal obligation, where applicable law requires it.

6. How information is used.

• To run Bubbles on your device and keep your fish happy and glowing.
• To send the on-device reminders you opt in to.
• To respond to support requests you send us.
• To detect and prevent abuse of our website or support inbox.

7. Sharing.

We do not sell or share personal data. The only third party involved in running Bubbles is Apple, which provides iOS, watchOS, HealthKit, iCloud, and the App Store payment system. Apple's handling of your data is governed by Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

If you tap Share to send a card, polaroid, or badge to another app such as TikTok, Instagram, X, or Messages, the resulting image leaves your device through that app under its own privacy policy. We are not involved in that transmission beyond creating the image and handing it to iOS.

8. International transfers.

Bubbles is available globally. Because we operate no servers and collect no personal data, there are no international data transfers initiated by us. Data you choose to store in iCloud is handled by Apple under Apple's own safeguards.

9. Your rights.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws including the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and CPRA, the Australian Privacy Act, the New Zealand Privacy Act, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. These typically include rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Because Bubbles holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, port, or erase on your behalf. You can effectively exercise these rights yourself at any time by managing HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings, deleting iCloud data from your Apple account, and uninstalling the app. If you would like written confirmation that we hold no data about you, email support@bubbles.fit and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA and CPRA, and we have not done so in the prior 12 months.

10. Data retention.

Your in-app data, including steps logged against Bubbles, streaks, and memories, lives on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. iCloud data is retained for as long as you keep it in your Apple account. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, then deleted.

11. Children.

Bubbles is rated 4+ and is suitable for families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we collect no information at all, no data regulated by COPPA, the GDPR's age provisions, or similar laws ever reaches us. Parents or guardians with questions can email support@bubbles.fit.

12. Security.

The strongest privacy protection is to not collect data in the first place. Bubbles is built on that principle. On-device data is protected by iOS sandboxing and by your device passcode or biometrics. iCloud data is protected by Apple's encryption. Our website is served over HTTPS.

13. Subscriptions and payments.

All purchases, trials, renewals, and refunds are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email, billing address, or card details. See our Subscription Terms for more.

14. Changes to this policy.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this website, and the effective date above always reflects the current version.
